Over the last year I have read countless articles about the abandoned exotics sitting in Dubai or some other Middle Eastern city. Usually these cars are photographed, covered in dust in some dark parking garage. ( I only assume has a lot of security) Other times these cars are photographed, again covered in dust, sitting on the side of some empty road but some failed construction project. My question for all of you is… Why doesn’t somebody do something about this!?!
Think about it. We have the ASPCA for abused animals, animals that are locked up, underfed and under-loved. Isn’t that the exact same thing that is happening here?!
These beautiful, artistic, marvels of modern engineer are sitting neglected, abused, underfed and under-loved. So here is what I propose. We Jalops need to start an organization which we will call “Save Precious Exotics Enduring Damage” or “SPEED” for short.
SPEED with send members over to Dubai and other Middle Eastern cities to “liberate” these exotics from their confines.
To fund the operation we will take donations from the public. We can even have a commercial with Sarah Mclachlan where she will tell about their plight while showing you photos like the ones below.
Come on people! The time is now, lets’ stand up for these poor poor vehicles and given them the OPPOrtunity to drive another day.

For just thousands a day you can save these poor neglected beasts...

These pictures are like an alternate universe in which supercars are the norm, and are left to rot in fields as soon as it needs an oil change or a tire goes flat, and econoboxes are lustworthy, with children hanging posters of Civics on their walls.

Fiero? I dunno. Kit car? The proportions are way off for it to be real.

The whole idea is a bit of a myth. Sure, Dubai has a few neglected cars waiting in barns and so-on, just like everywhere else, but most of the photos you see look much worse than they are because the country's so dusty. The one with the Enzo is a good example. All it takes is one dust-storm, and a short-stay carpark looks like it's full of abandoned cars to our eyes.

Very true... but even that is horrible treatment of such a beautiful car... all that dust seeps its way into every part of these finely tuned machines until they are junk... its like driving your lambo or ferarri to Burning Man every day.

I'd guess they feel much the same about other people driving cars in the rain...
